3 Ways To Easily And Naturally Deal With Acne

If you have ever had a pimple, or a whole outbreak of them you might be wondering what you can do to get rid of them quickly and naturally. There are many great professional treatments available, but for some people these treatments are too pricey for their budget, or they just need a quick fix in the moment. Here are a couple simple things you can do to care for your skin and help relieve acne and pimples.

1. Use Steam To Help Cleanse The Skin

Using steam to help cleanse the skin is always a good idea, but it is especially helpful if you have acne. When you steam your face it helps to open the pores and dry them out. One of the best ways to steam your skin is to boil some water on the stove, then take the pot off the burner and drape a towel over your head. Then put your head and towel over the pot, without touching it, and let the steam cleanse your skin for a couple minutes. Using a towel over your head will keep the steam concentrated so you can get quicker results.

2. Use Toothpaste Or Baking Soda To Dry Out Problem Spots

If have one pimple that is especially bothersome you can dry it out using a little baking soda or toothpaste. Most tooth pastes are made with baking soda, so essentially you are just using the same ingredients to accomplish the drying out. What you should do is either make a paste with the baking soda and then place the paste or toothpaste on the pimple and let it sit there, even overnight. Then in the morning you can wash it off and hopefully it will dry out the area enough so that the pimple won't be as noticeable.

3. Use Hydrocortisone and Ice To Clear Up Red Spots

Having red blemishes can be uncomfortable and embarrassing.  In some cases you might get a spot of acne that doesn't have just one pimple, but a whole spot of irritated skin. Luckily, you can help heal the redness by applying hydrocortisone to the area. This will help to remove any discoloration or burning.

In addition, if you still have a lot of pain and burning, you can apply ice to the area. This will help to heal the area and remove any discoloration.

About Me

Meeting With The Dermatologist

One day when I was getting ready for work, I realized that my skin was less-than-pristine. In addition to toting a few patches of adult acne, I also realized that my skin looked dull and unhealthy. Instead of living with the problem, I decided that it would be smart to meet with a dermatologist. However, I was a little nervous about my first visit. After I made an appointment, I decided to talk with a friend about what to expect. On the day of my appointment, the doctor was super nice and took the time to explain everything to me. I want to spread the word about the realities of the dermatology office, which is why I made this blog.
